Grade 10 Curriculum

As students embark on their academic journey in ZSHSID, the first year is meticulously crafted to lay a robust foundation for the demanding International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) that that students will undertake in Grade 11 and 12. We offer a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses all subjects of the DP, ensuring that students have the opportunity to explore and experience the diverse disciplines available for selection in the DP, preparing them for course selection while also developing a strong academic base for the IBDP.

Students also delve into the Chinese National Curriculum and participate in Huikao (National High School Academic Proficiency Examination), which not only helps students master the basics of various subjects but also instills a profound understanding of the cultural and intellectual heritage inherent in the Chinese educational system.

Recognizing the importance of individual interests and future goals, we provide electives such as Visual Arts, allowing students to tailor their education by choosing electives based on their interests, and subjects that they will study in DP.

Apart from the Chinese National Curriculum, which is taught in Chinese, other courses are taught bilingually or entirely in English, equipping students with the necessary academic English proficiency before they transition into the IBDP.

To sum up, our G10 curriculum includes a blend of pure Chinese National Curriculum courses (such as Politics, History, Geography, Technology, and Physical Education), pure Foundation Programme courses (preparatory courses designed to bridge the gap towards the DP), and integrated courses that encompass both the content of the Chinese National Curriculum and content aimed at preparing for the DP. The following table outlines the course settings for the first year of high school:
